That blog post is almost 3 years out of date and is no longer correct. The 3512 is supported natively by current Nevada builds, but you may need to add an entry into /etc/driver_aliases for your particular controller card. You need to add the PCI vendor and device IDs reported by the 'prtconf -v' command when run as root. (CardBus is a version of PCI optimised for cards). Please post the full output of 'prtconf -v' here. (We don't need all of it - if you can find the information related to the 2 SATA controller chips then just post that instead).
For the record, the current SATA controllers currently supported in native mode on the latest Nevada builds: - Silicon Image 3112, 3114 and 3512 - Some chips that support AHCI (currently Intel ICH5 and 6 and nVidia MCP61) Cheers Andrew.
