Hi, To boot an Acer Travelmate 290 from the live cd. Edit the grub to include -B pci-reprog=off,disable-pcic=true.
You will/may have to do this in live text mode as my video driver wasn't set properly. Then you have to set the Xorg.conf file. http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=234375. Please read this till the end, as there is an error in the documentation. We are looking more into what causes this.
