2. Yes you can dual boot. When you install OpenSolaris the GRUB bootloader is installed. >From this bootloader you can basically boot any other OS by editing this entry: /boot/grub/menu.lst or in ZFS: /rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst Before this your harddisk needs to be partioned. Or when starting from a machine with windows installed, you can shrink the drive, install OpenSolaris on the free space and then add this line to 'menu.lst'
