OK, you have an ADSL modem. now, I assume that the modem has an
Ethernet cable ( RJ45 ? )
thats plugged in to the Realtek NIC , does it ?
What is the method you use to assign an internet adress to the rge0 NIC ?
- do you use DHCP ? from where ?
- do you set the IP adress manually ?
- is this the somtimes used in India, PPP over Ethernet protocol ?
( PPPoE )
