Hi , If you have a PC with an AMD64 bit processor or compatible processor such as the Intel Core Duo 2 Solaris Kernel will automatically run in 64-bit mode AFTER you have installed it. The Solaris installers run in 32 bit mode removing the need for two different installers. Versions of Linux and BSD has 32bit and 64 distros. Solaris does not, because Solaris has had dual 32/64 bit functionality since Solaris 2.7 10 years ago. Most of the Solaris utility programs are 32 bit running on top of a 64 bit kernel.
