Hi there, I keep getting dns errors on OpenSolaris 2008.05. svcs -xv reports the following: svc:/network/dns/server:default (BIND DNS server) State: maintenance since 1 August 2008 19:18:56 BST Reason: Start method failed repeatedly, last exited with status 1. See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-KS See: man -M /usr/man -s 1M named See: /var/svc/log/network-dns-server:default.log Impact: This service is not running.
I had a look in the log and found that the Method "start" exited with status 1 but can't find any reason for the failure. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm running OpenSolaris on virtualbox 1.6.2. The problem seems to have started after I attempted an upgrade using instructions from here: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=66391&tstart=0&start=0 Thanks in advance. Al.
