I am in the final stages of making my OS box a home file server. I had wanted
to use a USB drive to transfer the files since there's about 438GB of data. My
front end machines are all OSX and while trying to do this I discovered that
OpenSolaris doesn't read HFS, which explains why it couldn't mount the thing.
I reformated it to FAT and dumped the data back onto the drive.
However I am in the same boat.
It is showing in the My Computer applet and is recognized in rmformat. When I
attempt to mount the drive though I get a message about it being unable to
mount the location.
I'm at work at the moment but want to try and tackle this again tonight, any
suggestions?
