application, the window takes a certain size. You can off-course enlarge the
window, but if you type anything longer than the original window size, the
words will start wrapping at the original window border, overwriting other
output that's in the same window.
If you open a new tab in the enlarged window though, it behaves just fine. It
definitely looks like a bug to me, so I'd like to know where/how I can raise
such issues.

If this is with bash, have a look at http://blogs.sun.com/dp/date/20090408.
The issue sounds similar to the one described there.
