Those instructions are not for OpenSolaris - they're for Solaris 10, which has a completely different packaging & installation system, among many many many other changes. > i can then boot to the login prompt, but i am expecting install to start and > it doesn't. how do i get install to start? if it should start, how do i > figure why it is not starting? if it can't start in text mode - is there a > process for bringing up one of the ethernet ports and using ssh to run x on a > remote machine? Just boot the LiveCD without doing any grub hackery and it should auto-start the GUI. There is no text-mode installer in the current LiveCD's (it's under development for the next release). http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/dev/getstart/tsboot.html has instructions for starting ssh & doing a remote GUI install. -- -Alan Coopersmith- [email protected] Sun Microsystems, Inc. - X Window System Engineering _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
