I'm not sure I understand his comment correctly however. Should I be able to
simply install OpenSolaris from this LiveCD like I would on a x86 computer or
is there a much more complicated procedure (create zpool, copy all LiveCD
contents to rootfs, ...)?

I haven't tried it yet, but yes. I believe you should be able to boot
from the CD, then perform an install after booted into Opensolaris. I
have a Blade 2500 here I'm waiting to upgrade to Opensolaris soon, so
I'm interested also on the results.
