From either Sabayon or openSUSE, try running the device detection tool:
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.jsp
I'm guessing it will fail to find drivers for either of your networking
interfaces, but it should give you pointers on where you may be able to
find them.
