Hi,

I've recently built a system and would like to install OpenSolaris on it.
However, whenever I try to start the LiveCD, the kernel hangs on "Probing
for Device Nodes". Using the snv_111, there is no other output, but using
the snv_126, there's additional output for an audio device. The system won't
even respond to ctrl+alt+del. I followed some instructions I found to enable
a debugging mode, and this is the output right before the hang:

installing audiohd, module id 159.

WARNING: audiohd#0: no codec exists

WARNING: audiohd#0: couldn't init controller

load 'drv/pci-ide' id 160 loaded @ 0xfffffffff7b6a040/0xffffffffc032fa08
size 3952/496

installing pci-ide, module id 160.

load 'drv/pit_beep' id 161 loaded @ 0xfffffffff82e4b20/0xffffffffc0331e98
size 1176/328

Hardware:

Asus Z8PE-D12 motherboard

12gb Kingston DDR3 RAM

GeForce 8600 (the hang still happens with only the onboard video)

2x320GB SATA HD's

1x160GB SATA HD

1xIDE DVD drive

2xE5506 Intel Xeon

I've been able to install Windows 7, Server 2003/2008 R1/R2, and several
versions of Linux with no problems so far. Any help anyone could provide
would be great.

Thanks

John
