> Has anyone figured out a way to fix this? Hey, if it's a server, you don't need a KVM. Just turn off x-windows and GNOME with this commmand:
pfexec svcadm disable gdm then set it up so that you can get a command line on the server using a DB-9 serial console cable (i.e. similar to the kind of RS-232 type roll over cable that you use to configure a CISCO router). Here's a link that explains how to do it: http://www.blastwave.org/dclarke/blog/?q=node/110 or you could follow my instructions here: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=119342&tstart=0 or here http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=389081 controlling a UNIX server remotely with X-windows turned off using a serial console cable command line to do everything is the "manly man's" way to admin a UNIX box. If you do it, it will not only make you a more competent *nix admin, but it will also increase your testosterone levels and make you grow more hair on your chest! Try it for yourself and find out. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
