First of all, I love the ZFS/BE features--a real life saver.
Now, I tried to move to the dev distribution when 126 came out, it failed, I
assumed user error, and waited till 128. Now, I am getting the same thing.
After fixing the java package issue where the standard way we install jvms was
conflicting with the way the package wanted things to go, I've got 128 as a
separate boot environment, but it gives me the splash image with no update for
progress or if I disable that, it gives me just a flashy cursor. After reading
a previous thread with issues on 128, I update my grub load for this distro to
the following:
findroot (pool_rpool,0,a)
bootfs rpool/ROOT/opensolaris-5.11-0.128 #this is what I named the BE
kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS -v #removed
graphics, added -v
module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive
When I boot into that I now get to see a few lines of text, but only a few. I
don't see anything that I recognize as an error, but I don't know the system
very well, yet. After about 3/4 of a screen worth of board and device
discovery/version info/memory discovery, and what looks like a successful
kernel load, I get the following lines followed by a fast blink cursor that
will stay put for hours if I leave it.

I have only been running this system for about a month. I've moved my
development team over to this platform to match closer to our Solaris
production environment for better deployment and troubleshooting knowledge.
Now, I can't get past this issue to use some of the newer software versions
available in your dev builds. I'm on a slightly modified (by the vendor) HP
vx4600 Workstation with the hardware RAID disabled and the SATA emulation mode
set to IDE if it matters. Had to disable RAID and change SATA emulation mode
from RAID to IDE in the BIOS in order to load the 2009 06 LiveCD.
I'd greatly appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
