Installation of OpenSolaris after Ubuntu will not overwrite your MBR. I consider this a virtue (or at least a professional courtesy), though others may not agree. :-) To get OpenSolaris to boot from MBR after installing Ubuntu, you can execute the following command: pfexec /sbin/installgrub -m /boot/grub/stage1 /boot/grub/stage2 /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0 However, b/f you do this, I strongly recommend that you do some background reading about Solaris names disk devices. This should be considered lesson No. 1 for those who are migrating from Linux to OpenSolaris. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
