That sounds similar to the issue reported in these threads,
where the intel gigabit ethernet driver is trying to bind to
all sorts of pci devices (video and usb controller) and breaks
these devices:

Can you post "prtconf -Dv" output for the installed machine?
What device driver is bound to the video card and usb
controller pci device?
