VPN is not a standard protocol definition, but a type of service.
You'd need a client for whatever VPN you use - Cisco's VPN is
common but not the only flavor.

I don't think Sun ever made a public client available.   You may be
thinking of the punchin client, for Sun's custom VPN for access only
to Sun's internal network - but that's not useful for accessing anyone
else's VPN, since they won't be running the same setup.
