I have a system with an LSI SAS9211 hba and OpenSolaris snv_130 and even the snv_132 installer can't seem to load the mpt_sas driver automatically. This is under 64-bit x86.
Here is the scanpci output pci bus 0x0003 cardnum 0x00 function 0x00: vendor 0x1000 device 0x0070 LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS2004 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [Spitfire] The GUI-based device-driver utility also sees it and confirms there is no driver associated with it.
