Indeed, running firefox from a shell produced the following output: LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /home/rfschtkt/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so [ld.so.1: firefox-bin: fatal: libmlib.so.2: open failed: No such file or directory]
With medialib installed, the player now works, except that sound is choppy (OpenSolaris on VirtualBox on Ubuntu, but sound from another Ubuntu as a guest plays smoothly). Thanks! I have submitted the following feedback to http://www.adobe.com/bin/webfeedback.cgi regarding http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/instructions/: For use on OpenSolaris at least (Solaris details may differ), please identify the plugin directories as either /usr/lib/firefox/plugins (system-wide, should be there and already contain plugins) or ~/.mozilla/plugins (user account, may have to be created), remove any mention of a flashplayer.xpt file (may have been part of an earlier distribution but is no longer provided), and state that it may be necessary to install a media-related package "medialib" using either the Package Manager or the command "pfexec pkg install medialib". -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
