Thanks for sending me the nightly.log file.
The log shows that cw is being built and installed into
.../usr/src/tools/proto/root_i386-nd/opt/onbld/bin/i386.
The error comes from trying to use
.../usr/src/tools/proto/opt/onbld/bin/i386/cw.
The first path has "root_i386-nd", the second one does not.
The log indicates that you're using a version of nightly(1) from
mid-February.

There have been some important changes to nightly(1) since then. So
please pkgrm the SUNWonbld package, then download and install the latest
SUNWonbld tar file. Note that the new downloads are no longer
SVR4-format packages. The installation instructions at
http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+on/install_quickstart
will tell you how to install the new SUNWonbld tarball.
I expect that upgrading your version of nightly(1) will fix the
problem. But if it doesn't, let me know.
