The "radeonhd" driver is installed by default, but only provides 2D, not 3D.
There is no available driver for the ATI Radeon cards that does 3d acceleration.
Right now 3D is limited to Nvidia and Intel graphics chipsets on OpenSolaris.

(There's an out of date and not currently usable port of the old ATI R300 DRI
 module for Radeon cards older than the Radeon HD series, such as the Radeon
 700, that could be updated with the latest code from the upstream DRI project
 if someone wanted to do a bit of development work to resync the implementation,
 but I'm pretty sure that's not a trivial task.)
