I had the same problem, after displaying the GRUB menu and selecting Open
Solaris, it just stopped. I even try it also with the original Open Solaris
2009.06 Live CD (x86/x64 platform) installer I borrowed from a friend... same
problem.

My PC desktop is a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 that previously running in Vista
32-bit SP1-- Intel Core2Duo E7400 2.80Ghz; 2GB RAM DDR3 (dual channel); 160GB
Samsung HDD (IDE); Intel Q45/Q43 Express chipset graphics; SoundMAX Integrated
Digital HD Audio and Intel 8256LM-3 Gigabit ethernet connection.

I'm planning of dual-booting (WinServer2003 & Open Solaris).
