Hi Maveen, I guess you have 2 different errors going...
When using the Package Manager, there is no route to pkg.opensolaris.org, looks like a proxy configuration error. I am not sure but i think PackageManager uses the system proxy configuration from gnome, take a look at it. But when you try it using the terminal, the server is contacted (no proxy error) but the transfer is aborted, maybe because a network timeout.
