Eh what? Are you sure that you have OpenSolaris? If yes, then you have Gnome 
and Firefox. Regarding customization and tools read documentation included in 
Gnome or in system as man pages. I'm pretty sure that you will be able to find 
eg. this page http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Main/documentation by your 
self.
