Linux swap and Solaris2 partitions share the same partition ID - this is why the OpenSolaris installer thought that your Linux swap partition was actually (Open)Solaris. There doesn't seem to be code in the OpenSolaris installer to determine what the contents of the partition actually are, i.e. Linux swap or (Open)Solaris.
