Hi, I have problems installing OpenSolaris on my new DELL Precision M4500. All boot CDs I tried (OpenSolaris 2009.6, SNV 134, Solaris 10/09) hang while booting.
Please see http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6961821 for kernel messages (-kv). I tried following things: - boot with -kv (no error messages, ALT+F1 does not work after CD stops spinning) - Changing the BIOS setting of the disk controller (RAID, ACPI, ATA, disabled) - Disabling all non-needed devices in BIOS (WLAN, eSATA, ...) - Booting from external USB CDROM - Booting from USB Nothing worked so far. Any more ideas how I get OpenSolaris (or Solaris 10) working on this laptop?
