I had an issue with a ZFS mirror of WD 20EARS green drives + dedup on b134 as well. The power supply failed in my home server (dual core AMD, 4 GB RAM desktop PC w/ disks + controllers stuffed in it). zpool import never completed, even booting from a b134 CD. I ended up putting the disks into a system with 8 GB RAM booted from CD. It took a few days, but my pool was imported. I was able to copy *all* my data (no loss!) back to the original system on other disks. I've decided for my systems: 1) WD EARS are a bad idea 2) dedup doesn't offer enough to me (10% space in this case) if I need > 4 GB RAM + days to recover. Even on a home system. 2a) some of that is certainly due to WD EARS I'm waiting for an update to b134. I'm sure the next release will be better for recovery. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
