I didn't see this final post Andrew - and have been busy getting audio to work 
properly in my b134; having got that all working I had another look at fuse and 
noticed your post.

The ntfsdebug.txt file your command generates contains one line

"fuse: mount failed: Invalid argument"

the practical significance which I don't know as I can read/write to my WinXP 
partition.  

I do seem to have a problem with fuse as it seems to be mixed up with the 
partial failure of my attempt to get Opensolaris on-nightly-142 (onnv_142) 
running; this will boot into xterm but crashes and reboots if I try to run in 
Gnome. The /var/adm/messages file generated when the crash occurs has the 
opening 3 lines
