I installed OpenSolairs 06/2009 on my Sony Vaio laptop. For reasons unknown, I could never update this (I forget the error) so it stayed on the original build of whatever the 06.2009 CDs had.
Despite the license conditions, I decided to give Solaris 11 Express a try. But the GNOME volume control does not function. I can adjust the level, and even mute it, but in practice a bleeps are almost deafening. Any thoughts how I might cure this?
