Hello again. Just to clarify, I've been researching the answer for the last several months. I'm guessing the card is too new for Intel to release the source for the driver and the iwlwifi project is a work around. I normally don't post in forums for help because i know how "particular" communities can be about "newbies" (I used ArchLinux for my longest stint with distros). Posting in forums is usually my last resort so i can try and teach myself. Some help is all i'm looking for.
