I'm curious if anyone has OpenSolaris running on hardware with any of
the following chipsets. The reason for the inquiry is, we can fairly
easily support such hardware *if* we could find systems to verify with.
If you have or want support for these chipsets, please let me know.
Please also let me know if you if you're willing to test binaries:
* ALI 5455 southbridge on x86/amd64 systems (uses OSS' "ali5455"
driver). Also, if you have this hardware, do you have the ability to
test multichannel if it was offered?
* ALI 5451 southbridge, uses OSS' "trident" driver. Again, if you
have multichannel capable systems, let me know.
* Trident 4DWAVE hardware (also uses "trident" driver) -- again,
interested in multichannel capable systems.
* SiS 7012 audio -- uses "ich" driver.
* ATI IXP SB600 chipset, using AC'97 instead of HD audio. (Would
use "ich" driver, although the evidence is that not even OSS supports it
right now).
* ATI IXP SB300 southbridge. Also would use "ich" driver.
* Any ATI IXP hardware with a multichannel capable codec. (The code
for this is already in Boomer, but I've not been able to find hardware
to properly test our 5.1 stuff with.)
The above chips could be supported by drivers we already have with only
minimal software changes, and I'd be happy to add the support if we can
just get some basic validation that it works.
Thanks.
