I posted this in deskttop-discuss, as I didn't know about this forum:

I see that Project Boomer (oss) has been integrated with OpenSolaris Nevada. I
use Solaris 10, and the oss 4.2 build 2002 available for Solaris 10 does not
work well at all, at least in a VirtualBox x86 guest environment. Is there any
way Solaris 10 users can get their hands on the results of Boomer and make them
work?

Apparently 4Front is having trouble with Solaris and needs help (see below). If
anybody can provide them with support, all us Solaris 10 users would be very
grateful.

"We are currently busy working on porting OSS drivers to Boomer. OSS is open
source and we invite others with some time to help fix OSS for Solaris 10. The
problem with OSS on Solaris is that the module system seems to dynamically
unload unused modules and what we need is some devfasdm support for OSS so that
Solaris correctly load the modules in the proper order - in Linux and BSD,
there is NO such problem of modules getting yanked out because of inactivity."
