I don't know, I only know when Windows 10 came out, I did a clean install of windows 10, and never installed Quicktime, as it at the time wasn't 'compatible' with windows 10. MP3 parcel streams always worked despite having no Quicktime on the system. Maybe this is a fluke, or windows 10 only situation. I still don't have Quicktime and I still have parcel stream support to this day.
