Bug ID: 2350 Summary: ssh-copy-id doesn't handle keys with missing trailing newline Product: Portable OpenSSH Version: 6.7p1 Hardware: Other OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 Component: ssh-copy-id Assignee: unassigned-b...@mindrot.org Reporter: jje...@redhat.com Created attachment 2548 --> https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/attachment.cgi?id=2548&action=edit patch One our user ran into problem with missing trailing newline characters in public key file when copying to remote server [1]. Everyone knows that every text file should end with newline character, but tools should handle both as ssh, sshd and other tools do. I know that this is not major issue and you are working on more important stuff, but this can help usability and avoid confusion if there are some old or malformed keys.
