Greetings,

Lots of you have said you'd be interested in the results [of my experiences
with RSA BSAFE SSL-C], so unless anyone objects I'll post them here and on
the ssl-users list. Eventually they'll make way onto my website.

However, I may not get very far because one thing I _can_ say is that
despite what it implies on their web site, it does _not_ give you access to
the lower level stuff. I am not currently using the SSL functions at all -
I'm using raw RSA code and handling keys myself and this library does not
support my doing that. I am now moaning to RSA Oz about this, so I'll keep
you all posted.

Not only that, but I've just received the prices RSA want for their
licences, and to be frank, they're absurd, especially considering the patent
expires in Sept 2000. Either they have devalued the US dollar by some orders
of magnitude or someone had a twitchy-fit on the "0" key.

Given all of this, I'm tempted to use something else for US versions of the
app and use RSA everywhere else.

Thieving gits, especially as the patented technoogy wads developed with
money belonging to the American people.

Jon
