Having me do a clean write up of the new EVP interface defenitely
is a good think. Because my confusion over the code grows by the
minute.
Ok, here is another question. If nobody knows then it will be removed
from the interface and I hope something will crash later on to
show that it should have been included.
- What is the function of the 'required_pkey_type' member in the EVP_MD
structure and the multiple PKEY subtypes?
their aim seems to be to ensure that only a certain combinations of
MDs and asym-ciphers are valid (those that have NID). But this
seems limiting to me and should be handled by the application calling
the function.
