Hi,
Just joined this list today after a nice soul
at [EMAIL PROTECTED] told me that
list was dead, heh. I am glad that SSleay lives
on at OpenSSL since eay joining RSA raised
some questions on the matter.
Anyway I am in the process to port SSLeay-090b
to the embedded world to run on a RTOS. My
question to the OpenSSL group is if it is
interested in getting feedback on making
the release easier to run/port on an RTOS
in the embedded world. Regardless, I think I
will switch to openssl and try your latest
release instead of the australian 090b version.
For example, the make system needs to be
adapted somewhat for the cross compilation
of the target libs (ctx_size needs to be
compiled with a diff compiler than the other
pem files etc), a replacement for the TERMIO
stuff which is not available on most RTOS's.
Another headache is the system include files
which might not be the standard ones etc.
Some of the programs in ssleay must also
run both on the host and be available as
"programs" on the RTOS (to generate certificats
on the fly from the target from management
tools etc).
Enough rambling, let me know if I should
port openssl to the embedded world myself
at each new release or if you are interested
in feedback on the subject.
Cheers,
Lennart Bang
