Just out of the blue, we could use a scheme similar what RMS does with
emacs.  With emacs, version x.y.90 is the prerelease of x.y+1...  A
similar scheme would be to have for example 0x0929 (0.9.2i), or
perhaps 0x093f (0.9.3o) as the "prerelease" of 0.9.3?
