I just hacked this together last night:

https://mercury.itsprojects.com/~mike/WebPlatform-OpenSSL-0.9.2b-3.src.rpm

There may be some crusty stuff in it - I'm learning RPM as I go. Also, the
namespace I put it under will offend most RedHat purists, but I'm
integrating something for myself, so I don't really care.

I thought you guys might find it useful for two reasons though:

1) There's a patch in there which turns on linux shared libs, but only for
"libssl", "libcrypto" had errors etc. I think this library isn't being
maintained though (?) so this may not be too useful.

2) There's a patch for the build process that mutates the perl paths to
the RedHat "standard" of /usr/bin/perl. That lets the package install
cleanly on RedHat systems.

As you see, the URL above is https - its running another RPM I made of
Apache-1.3.6/mod_ssl-2.2.8 built on this one, so it appears to work
correctly. That RPM is also available if you are interested.

Unfortunately, I'm an American, so this could be sticky and I'm not sure
whether I can even give these to non-Americans, etc., etc. That's why I'm
not posting patches. "Don't download that file if you're not American".

I'm also not on this list, so CC me if you want to correspond. I was just
scratching an itch here, so I'm only going to subscribe if this turns into
more than a fling. That's not a slam on you guys, I'm just busy, so please
CC me and don't be offended :-)
