Thanks for the answer and sorry for the wrong alarm. Some of my
tests (with CA.pl) seem to have overwritten necessary certs...
(I wanted to recompile openssl with -g to get s debug version
for my application).
After unpacking the distribution again (which I should have done
in the first place), everything works just fine.
