I tried to compile OpenSSL under Win32 with the installation instruction
from mod_ssl 2.3.6 in Install.Win32. If you configure OpenSSL using "perl
Configure VC-WIN32 --prefix=D:\OpenSSL", it will produce an incorrect
makefile, which produces an error about incorrect escape sequences, as i
posted to this list earlier. Solution is quite simple: just leave
"--prefix=D:\OpenSSL" and everything compiles fine. I tried to fix this, but
didn`t find the place where to, i`m quite new to Perl :-)
I tested this on Win98 and WinNT Server with both OpenSSL 0.9.3a and the
current OpenSSL 0.9.4 snapshot.
