I'm the original contributor of the Mac stuff, so I'll chime in in
agreement. Mac files are typically stored as a data and resource fork,
with extra info stored in the resource fork. Storing these sorts of
files on a unix or other filesystem has been always been ugly. The .hqx
solution is no worse than any other.
Mind you, the source files could easily be stored as single files. The
CodeWarrior project and AppleScript really need to be .hqx's though.
Wish it were otherwise, but....
