Hi,

I don't get to compile the snapshots (20000214 ...20000220, the oldest I
didn't try)
using the option alpha-cc. The program ~ /crypto/sha/sha_dsgt.c stop the
compiler sending the
following the message:

Fatal: Insufficient virtual memory to continue compilation.

During the compilation I obtain...
# swapon -s

Swap partition /dev/rz3b (default swap):
    Allocated space: 49152 pages (384MB)
    In-use space: 1704 pages ( 3%)
    Free space: 47448 pages ( 96%)

Total swap allocation:
    Allocated space: 49152 pages (384MB)
    Reserved space: 4014 pages ( 8%)
    In-use space: 1704 pages ( 3%)
    Available space: 45138 pages ( 91%)

I don't believe that the compiler is using all my swap area.

My compiler version ...
# cc -V
cc (cc)
        Digital UNIX Compiler Driver 3.11
DEC C V5.9-008 on Digital UNIX V4.0 (Rev. 1229)

The used computer is a DEC 3000/AXP V4.0 1229 (4.0f) alpha with 98mb of
installed memory (I also installed the last patch cluster of the Digital
for the version 4.0f).

Using gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) with the
openssl-SNAP-20000220
everything worked fine (all the tests passed).

Before configuring another cpu (I have to install all the packages for
development)
I would appreciate some help.

Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
