Havent heard from any of you from my previous post, so thought Id try again.

Id really appreciate any pointers to a pre-existing project involving
building openssl functionality into a com object which can be utilized for
posting to and grabbing http data back from a secure website.  Im planning
to build this myself, but an existing project would save time.
