I did that, but for CygWin32. Seemed highly usable.
BTW. Klaus Wegge is in the process of incorporating my/his patches
for djgpp into the configure script.

Yes, looks like fixing my opensslconf.h to include BN_LLONG fixed that
in some magical way.
