The following is true for both SSLeay and OpenSSL.
They use RSA. The RSA patent is not valid outside of the united states.
The patent expires toward the end of September; in six months the
question becomes moot.
If you can't wait until then, you have three choices:
Don't sell in the United States
Sell, and hope RSA doesn't sue you
Contact RSA and obtain a license.
