The following occurs when the "make" attempts to compile openssl in te
./apps directory
/usr/bin/ld: cannot open -lc : no such file or directory
collect2 : ld returned 1 exit status
Make [1]: *** [openssl] error 1
Make [1]: Leaving directory /root/download/openssl-0.9.4/apps
The ./config -t command produces
Operating system: i586-whatever-linux2
configuring for linux-elf
/usr/bin/perl ./configure linux-elf
I have had the same error with openssl-0.9.5a and openssl-0.9.5
