Whan I was working on a set of secure server daemons recently I found that
the Net::SSLeay package is *really* lacking for non-trivial tasks, and I've
been thinking about doing a new SSL module when I get some time that would
just be straight wrappers for the C API.  A lot of the low level
functionality isn't available in Net::SSLeay.
