I've just been for a long walk, a drink in the pub, and some deep thinking. I've decided that, although I am correct[1], I don't care. The whole point of all this EAR shit is to spread FUD. I'm not going to play. OpenSSL can be subject to EAR, and if that has evil consequences in the future, then I will: a) Say "I told you so" b) Do everything I can to resist. I feel sure we'll have some very able assistance should it come to this. If all else fails, then we have the perfect excuse to throw away OpenSSL and start again, and do it right this time. So, I'm going to stop resisting. Let's go for it! Note, I am _still_ not speaking for the rest of the OpenSSL team, so we'll have to see what everyone else thinks. I presume we're going to have some private discussions and a vote. Watch this space. Cheers, Ben. [1] I'm not going to attempt to defend this position, since it no longer matters. I have better things to do. -- http://www.apache-ssl.org/ben.html Coming to ApacheCon Europe 2000? http://apachecon.com/ ______________________________________________________________________ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Automated List Manager [EMAIL PROTECTED]
