Compile errors

I am unsure if this is the correct list to submit my question, but I will ask anyway...   While attempting to compile OpenSSL under win98 with VC++ 6, however, when the compiler moves into the linking stage, I get errors that each symbol is defined in another file.  What is the best way to fix these errors?   E. Lopez
